I am Blessed
To be on a plane with 21 people all going to the same place for the same reason.
To be immersed in this Spanish speaking culture.
To be in the City of Bogota in the country of Colombia.
To stand at the entrance of this orphanage.
I am Blessed.
To see a girl running towards me with her brown hair blowing in the wind.
To see her big brown eyes and beautiful smile.
To have her jump into my arms and hug her for a whole two minutes.
To discover her name is Luissa Rodriguez.
I am Blessed.
For her to take my hand and pull me everywhere for the next hour.
To spin the jump rope as she jumps in the middle.
To hold the paintbrush as she tells me what to paint on her precious brown skin.
To feel the tears trickle down my cheeks as she hands me a picture that she drew. While saying in Spanish that it is a special gift for me.
Why I am being blessed?
When I came to bless her?
