MY PIANO TEACHER THINKS I'M A FOOL
My fingers touch the keys, but the only sound I hear is my pumping
heart.
I know she hates me,
everyone does?
The tears start forming in my eyes,
she turns to me with her judging visage,
“That’s a c, not an a!”, she cries.
But how can I possibly know the difference? I can’t read sheet music.
I press the c, but my fingers slip,
I fall into the wrong key…
She takes out her phone,
Is she ignoring me?
The room is cold, but I’m stained with sweat,
And in exactly that moment
her dog jumps on me.
From underneath the piano
I didn’t see him there.
I let out a yelp as she scolds at her dog.
And when she tells me to start again my heart drops.
I should have practiced, I really should.
Because after all those horrid lessons,
My PIANO TEACHER THINKS I’M A FOOL.
