Decomposing
Decomposing,
Back to the Earth,
Back to the cool soil,
Do you still think of me?
Or am I just another organism to be compressed for millennium.
One day I'll power your car,
And will you think of me then?
A full tank, who are you driving to?
Speed past vineyards,
"Sweet cherries" and "local honey"
It looks and tastes and smells like freedom.
Wine and art, you feel important.
Flushed, buzzing, hot, muggy,
The world spins, early sunset light blinding you,
As you stumble towards the door,
And you think of me.
