Hill District
Empty shops and vacant spaces, all once filled
Now silent, still and stark, A symbol of
a town's lost spark. Barber shops and salons now lie still.
A police station stands so tall, But what
good is it after all? With officers who
turn a blind eye, A useless police station, its purpose spent.
Empty lots of land, Waiting for life to take hold,
Nature's canvas. Amidst the rubble,
Homes once stood tall and strong, but now how they've fallen.
The Hill District is danger,
Cautious steps on every street, Safety first, always.
Eyes like daggers, Piercing through with angry glares.
Don't stop, keep going Regret awaits those who pause
Loud gunshot echoes, Lock up the house,
shut the lights, there is no Peace tonight.
Heat strikes, summer smells of sizzling hot grill,
Smoky scent fills the air, Barbecue and hot dogs await.
Summer's warm embrace burns away the pains. The days
Become better and suddenly everyone is safe.
