An Ode to Fall
When summer leaves of green
Turn to brown and lean
There comes a time in which
The air and wind are rich
In old exasperated sighs
Among the lows and highs
Of tree tops turned to brown
However not in spite or frown
But because a homely blanket of chill
Has come from over yonder the hill
It is during this time when off go our blouses
And in we go to our fire-lit houses
Where there lay kittens by the hearth
And scented candles of the Earth
Outside the window leaves of orange and yellow fall
And our hearts open to autumn and its merriness.
