What Color Is Hate?
Hate is deep red like blood.
It sounds like people fighting just to fight,
With no rhyme or reason.
It smells sour and coppery,
Almost as if you were in a hot, dirty room and it was raining.
It tastes like when you bite your tongue,
But you only realize once you taste it.
It looks like an angry person,
Who is very red and almost looks like they would hit you.
It feels like when you have a hangnail that keeps snagging and festering.
And yet…
The man yelling doesn’t hate you; he loves you.
The people fighting don’t hate each other,
They care for each other
When you bite your tongue, it’s because you were enjoying your food.
That hot, dirty room is just the right temperature for you
And the rain is calming when you fall asleep
That hangnail will eventually heal and stop snagging
Nobody really hates anyone;
They just need to hear the whole story.
