When the World Ended
And it took our Ideals with it
When the seas corroded
and the sky went black
When the mushrooms took over the cities
and only the cockroaches were left
and they carried on the legacy of none
When the world ended
when it’s gone and done
and the people watch
as they see the sunrise at night
When the world ended
to the big red button
when irradiation ruled
and our genes were de-pooled
and there was not but amalgams
But even then
when the world shall end
I’ll be sitting right there
in my grand old chair
writing the world anew
