Dawn
Sickening heat
Claws at my eyes
Till the nausea
Snares my mind
Rays of sunlight
Creeping through
Turns bruised purple
Lucent blue
Past my curtain
Creeping by
A pale gold
Of day’s bright sky
It pounds in my brain
Desperate in its way
Melted at touch
I could sleep the whole day
But my walls once gray
Are bathed in gold
So I’ll try and tug
The curtains closed
The morning light
Blinds my eyes
As delicate Dawn’s
Patience subsides
