Never Be Enough
Nothing is worse
Then knowing I’ll never be first.
Always striving to please,
But at the end,
I’m the one who’s at unease
For you, I’m always there
As for me, you don’t seem to care.
I’m like a sidewalk
Being walked on, day after day
And like concrete, I’m slowly wearing away.
Again and again I catch you when you fall
When will you reciprocate, at all?
Will the pit in my stomach ever cease
Will I ever be at peace
With knowing I’ll never be enough
