An Absolutely True Story of a Part-Time Indigobird
Where I am from I cannot return
As the egg laying in the nest of an unknown land
The Indigobird must learn to adapt
It was given only one choice in life
A daunting voice rang in my head
The voice of progression and progress
Negligence isn’t an option
Like a stroke of luck or God’s Grace
An invitation to an unknown land
One pawn forward and the war began
An opportunity to try again
When the Indigobird is under constant terror
The Indigobird must adapt
When The Indigobird is threatened to fall to the ground
The Indigobird must adapt
When The Indigobird is forced out of the nest
The Indigobird must learn to fly

This piece was the only way I could put into words how I felt being an immigrant.
