Military Brat
Long drives and cool coastlines
Another life another place
More to know and more places to go
But in a new and different place, the other half will remain in this space
Another house is built, but never home
No roots to call my own with my life on a shoot
Pull the trigger and watch me fly through the sky
Another crazy life another place
The stuff doesn’t change, only the place
He put on his uniform and a brave face
Off in a puff
He served
He worked
But we served too
He missed our birthdays
Our concerts and games
A portion of my life he will never regain
We served too
We let him go across the country and the world so we can remain free
We let him go so others could have their freedom too
We see others with the life we will never feel the same
We served too
As I see our symbol and our anthem play
We cherish our life to the very end of the day
We put on a brave face every day
Though we never wore the uniform
We hurt too
