Holidays
It means waking up late,
no pace to the day and watching the sun race on,
its cold floors, warm breakfasts, snowflakes, and skates.
It means following the train tracks,
ending up in the same place,
its mugs, crackling logs, soft whispers, and tight embraces.
It menas relfection in silence,
understanding unspoken words,
its stars, dying giants, fuzzy blankets, and wrapped boxes.
It means returning home,
only to be greeted by small paws,
its anticipation, joy, red faces, and spilt milk.
It means home.
Four walls, twinkling lights, laughter, and celebration.
