Drowning in a Sea
I was drowning in a sea
One of many unknown things
I was alone
I was drowning in a sea
Beginning to grow tired
I am so cold
I was drowning in a sea
When I saw a little light in the distance
I couldn’t bring myself to hope
I was drowning in a sea
The light is attached to a boat
I wonder what their purpose in the world is
I was drowning in a sea
When we made eye contact
You moved the light forward to see me better
I was drowning in a sea
When a wave came
And everything was dark once more
I was drowning in a sea
When I heard a splash
I could no longer hear the sounds of a boat
I was drowning in a sea
Something surfaced next to me
Your eyes brighter than anything around
I was drowning in a sea
When you smiled
And grabbed my hand
I was drowning in a sea
Hand in yours
Warmer than I’ve ever been before
I was drowning in a sea
When I closed my eyes
And let the water swallow me
I was drowning in the sea
But I’ve woken on the shore
You hovering over me
I had been drowning in the sea
We stare at each other
You smile and so do I
I used to be drowning in the sea
Before you came along
And saved me
