Droplets
I liken you to the rain.
For just as its thousand droplets
Bring splendor to the lands,
So your unceasing shower of love
captivates my soul.
I liken you to the rain.
For just as the water-speckled windowpane
And the dewy flowers
Are the its work of art,
So you have made a masterpiece of my
Once broken heart
With the dew of your sweet words.
I liken you to the rain.
For just as the strong rainstorm
Destroys the Earth's prestilences,
So your words of wisdom
Destroy the multitude of evils that
Run wild in my mind.
Just as the rain is but a thousand droplets,
So I am blessed to have you as my rain.

I wrote this piece for a school assignment last year. The objective of the assignment was to write a poem relating and element of nature to an emotion. In "Droplets," rain is being compared to the various forms of love that two people might have for each other.
