Carding
The feeling of her hand running through
the hairs on my head is heavenly
Her gentle gaze and caring eyes
Sends butterflies down my spine
If only, for a moment,
maybe, quite possibly it could be,
I could feel her arms intertwine my soft body
I’d be in complete disbelief
Because, for me, in my imperfect mind,
Being loved by someone such as her
My god, my love, the one I look up to-
It seems impossible to believe
But when her soft lips speak
And the words of affection leave her tongue
Truly, I know, she’s loves me
And forever she will, no matter what I do
For yes, I may be imperfect
But the carding of her hands over my body
Paints a new picture for me to see
One of beauty and one that’s desirable
Maybe I am not perfect,
But I am enough for the one I love
And, of that remark, that is all I could ever want
To be her’s, as she is mine, and be happy as she is in my life.

I wrote this originally over a fascination over the word carding but it became a love poem dedicated to my partner.
