The Most Impactful Day of My Life
I have only been on this planet for 6,122 days
So picking the most impactful day of my life seemed impossible
However, one day impacted the rest
My aunt was diagnosed with an irreversible illness
It wasn’t just this day though
The day I was sitting on my phone oblivious in the backseat of the car
When my mom’s voice cracked she had something to say
When my throat tightened in the back of my mouth
When the words I could have never imagined slipped out of her mouth
You were right
She is Sick
She won’t get better
Little did I know this diagnosis would change every day from that point on
Her illness is invisible
That only makes it worse
A beautifully woven spider falling apart
Every leaf falling off a tree in the fall
An ice cream cone slowly melting off its cone
Until it feels like there’s nothing left
This day has made me feel like the walls of my castle are falling
This day has brought me more loneliness and pain than any person has ever
But it was just a day
Out of the 6,122 days that Thursday was just one of them
But I lost something on that day
Hope

I lost my hope on a Sunday, when my grandmother passed away...She had no illness at all...Life is really bizarre...We don't know when it would attack us...That's the worst part of it...
