The Power of Motherhood
Billions and billions and billions of millenniums ago,
A mother, whose species is not to be named, decided to inherit,
And pass along the genetic codon of her own kind.
Hence, she pushed and pulled, pushed and pulled,
Endured the piercing pain in her stomach,
A pain which roots from deep in the pelvis,
Bit her lips through the flashy flow of red blood cells,
Like a river, like an acute blade slashing her flesh.
Yet, she persevered.
Indeed she did persevere.
Thenceforth the power of motherhood continued on,
For generations, generations, and many more to come.
Homo sapiens, hens, chameleons, hares, and humans alike,
Her commitment, her strength to overcome all, her undefeatable heart,
And most importantly, her limitless love for her children,
It is a miracle.
The miracle of a mother.
Let’s all sing and rejoice today,
To solemnly thank and celebrate the power of motherhood,
The power of mothers, 母親s, madres, whatever lingo you use,
To walk through brambly thorns,
Swim through the seven seas,
Climb through Mount Everest,
Travel through the scorching Sahara,
Endure the utmost pain of labor,
And sacrifice her glamorous youth,
Etc, etc, etc, etc, etc…
Just to watch her children grow and thrive,
And smile under radiance of the sun,
And make sandcastles and dart and glide,
And learn the necessities of life,
And pursue their passions in delight.
This, is the power of motherhood.
Indescribably amazing.

As Mothers’ Day just passed, I’d like to recognize and applaud all mothers for their dedication and unlimited love to their children. The delivery process is beyond strenuous. I’d like to show support to all mothers around the world: You have gone through a lot, and you are amazing!!
