Child
Hushed explanations to my friends
Why scruffy haired grandpa showed up
And another glass won’t hurt, neglectful dad didn’t attend
instead at a dim lonesome pub.
Was blind, I saw nothing wrong
But I was a lost child, naive
Closed tall doors, Mom and dad never got along.
Open doors, I once perceived
Dried tears, wasted time and energy don’t feel bad
The sun rises again, I know nothing more
Just mom without dad
A relationship gone, broken, torn
