Forgiveness
Tears streaming down faces
where just before anger burned
Hands are reaching out for purchase
Please, please, please
Forgiveness
Heads are shaking in the crowd
They feared the worst but were let down
How strange to think that someone
so dear could incite such fear
I suppose they’d better ask
Forgiveness
Tension dripping out from fingers
that, for years, had held such envy
So hard to say when the competition ended
No real purpose, they’d both be happier
What would life be if they asked?
Forgiveness
In every day, in every stage
of your lifetime you find
the only thing that truly means
Forgiveness
