Smiling Through Sadness
As I sit in the dark
And cry in my sleep,
I use to be happy
But now,
The cycle of sadness is just on repeat.
A smile,
With no joy.
A laugh
With no true delight
As I smile through sadness,
My body is drained.
It feels like a old shoe
Stepped on and worn,
With nothing left to give
I wonder why I am like this
Me of all people,
But I guess I am just lucky,
Even though I do not feel it.
