Death
I know what it’s like
To knock on Death’s door.
I’ve done it many a time.
I know what it’s like to
step into his house and
be pulled right back.
I’ve walked through his halls,
studied his habits,
been close enough to touch his
skeletal, hooded face and
Escaped.
I’ve been to Death’s house.
There are two tunnels that
lead into the afterlife,
One, to Heaven,
the other,
to Hell.
I’ve walked into both.
I know what it’s like
to brought back into
the arms of life.
I haven’t visited Death in
quite awhile now.
I don’t plan to
for a long time, but
I know what it’s like
To knock on Death’s door.

I used to be suicidal and almost died a few times. I decided to keep living and wanted to write something.
