love is blood
Of warmth and flesh, I crawl
I fight and I scream
While the far away stars gleam
Just take me home he pleads
But we both have to pay for our deeds
We know the price of our love is blood
Now its nothing more than a crimson flood
Our bodies on the frozen church floor
We were so careful to keep it behind a closed door
Just one small slip
Now we’ve lost our grip
How could I be so careless?
Now the masses want their justice
Just one small kiss it's harmless
How could you be so heartless?
What if it was your child up here?
Would you still scream and sneer?
Betray your own child for a broken religion
You know that's what causes our division
Until you leave those passages behind
And learn to love all of humankind
Until you stop preaching the next great flood
My love will be nothing but a call for blood.
