Child's Mind
The Earth's ground is tear ing itself apart
Ravines gaping open, the red abyss fills my eyes
Flames from miles below singe my skin
The shining light above fades
Now Death stands atop the heavens, watching me
He sends his soldiers, their noses are attached
wrong, their eyes misplaced these are monstrous creatures
sent to slay me, ha, this battle you shall lose Death
–[swords> scattered around swiftly I grab one and swing
Monster after monster after monster I slaughter, but the stampeding waves are endless,
nowhere to run too many
cracks and faults one step off this rock
and I'll be f

l
l
i
n
g for eternity
Blood gushes from the dark skies
The alarm begins to blare,
It's starting to rain, come back in.
I valiantly sigh, and I roar
into Death's face
“Not Today”
I chuck the stick to the sky
and stomp in all the puddles along my way
home with my head held high
