Honeysuckle Home
Warm breeze caresses my bare arms,
it’s touch sweet like honey.
Even in its vast emptiness
beauty dances with the wind between each slim blade of grass.
Hiding beneath houses,
beneath fallen trees,
between the rays of buttery sunlight,
curious kittens explore the earth below their pink padded paws.
Tall yellow giants stand guard atop their earthen fortress.
Even on the tips of my toes,
stretching doesn't get me to their soft fragile petals.
Dirt disperses under the weight of my feet, damp with morning dew.
The perfumes of cows and thriving greenery
surrounds the lone tranquil structures.
Gravel crunching under heavy boots,
sounding the alarm of my coming.
Stars gracefully slice the dark sky fiercely,
just as the sun reflects the strength of my never-ending delight
Here,
where the breeze is gentle and the scarce company is sweet
I will always reside here,
forever my home.
