As Weeks Go By
I finally cleaned my room.
After weeks of watching from my bed as the clothes piled up in the corner.
I finally washed my face.
After weeks of letting the tears dry on my cheeks.
I finally showered the feeling of you off of me.
After weeks of letting heartbreak make a home out of my body.
I’m finally starting to realize that though you were my life at one point, you can’t be anymore.
Because if I still acted as if you were, I would still be in bed, crying a million tears over you, feeling like I wasn’t enough.
The pain of you leaving crippled me.
And I’m finally starting to feel okay again.
