I love
I love
I want to brush my fingers through your frizzy mess on your head.
Hug you for no reason but to feel you in my arms
Kiss you senseless against the wall
Rest my head at the nook of your neck
Make you laugh until your stomach hurts
Hold your hand while watching that cheesy Disney movie that you always watch
Protect you from any hurt you'll feel.
Stand next to you when in need
Watch you blush and giggle while you dance silly under the moon
But
You're a girl
I am too
And I'm scared
I love you
But I love my mom more
It hurts to think that I will lose either of you
I'm sorry
I'm so sorry
I hope one day you'll find someone who'll smile at every thought of you as I did
I hope that that person goes with every spontaneous idea you had like I did
To make you feel butterflies every time you see them as I felt with you.
Take you out for your midnight munchies
Eat all the tomatoes because you hate them
Make sure your at arm's length because your clumsy self trips over air
Watch you snore like a turbulent beast smiling because that's the most beautiful sound, other than your laugh; they have ever heard
I hope that person loves you even more than I did
I beg that person won't be scared.
Like I am

This poem was written to give voice to feelings that I felt and could not be expressed as freely as I would like too.
