My Shadow
When the most beautiful of lights shines upon my life
My shadow weighs behind
She corrupts the moonlight through my window
To birth monsters beneath my bed.
But in my deepest, darkest hour of melancholy
She is nowhere to be seen
She is washed away by the thunderous storm
But taunts after rainbows.
It is as if she calibrates the intensity of my pain
To just enough suffrage
For I can never be too happy without her appearance
Nor too sad before her disappearance.
