Winter
Fractures of the sky drift to the ground
like powdery ash or shattered glass,
glistening,
exquisite.
On its own, each minuscule flake is unique,
but seemingly insignificant.
Together, the shards converge to create a picturesque scene,
the landscape of children’s daydreams and spring’s nightmares,
but a wonderland nonetheless.
