I don't know how long it's been there.
The feeling of dread.
The hope that one day everything will fade away.
The yelling, the anger.
The self hatred that consumes me.
Happiness is deceptive, it holds out its arms
As if to embrace you, then catches you in the cold dark maw that is depression.
Nothing lasts forever, that much is clear.
Everything iced over eventually, especially a heart.
And fake smiles and laughs to cover the pain work.
Because it never really matters how you feel, if the people you love are okay.
