self reflection
i discover the most about myself in the dead of night
when an eerie glow is cast across my room by the moonlight
i’ve learned about life and love and sadness all alone during these fleeting hours
i’ve planted saplings of thought; red roses and sunflowers
i’ve taught myself about humanity and what gives us each and every drive
i’ve discovered that music is the one thing that makes me feel truly alive
but i have realized that i am nothing more than building blocks that constantly rearrange
crumbling and crashing to the ground only for me to haphazardly change
i am thankful for these precious hours where i feel one with the moon
for i am a child of the night dancing to a silent tune
