What I Know
When it comes to the little things,
I don’t know much.
I’m not very good at science,
I couldn’t tell you Newton’s laws
Or how to convert pounds to kilograms.
I don’t know much about cars
Other than how to drive one.
I don’t know much about myself, even.
I’ve always let that up to others to decipher.
Through all the things I don’t know much about,
there is one thing I’m certain I know a lot about:
you.
I know how your face brightens when you’re happy.
I know how your voice gets higher when you’re embarrassed.
I know the compassion that fills your heart,
and also, the pain that is hiding deep within.
I know I love you,
and that’s all I really need.
