Waves
The gentle cobalt waves appeared and disappeared
As if someone were chasing them.
They crashed in anxiety
Desperate to reach the rest of the world
But were too afraid to do so
Finding comfort and security in their ocean home.
Cotton-candy skies kissed the sea at the horizon
Like a mother to her baby girl
Putting the tides at ease.
They knew they were safe at last
From such a world they would never get to see.
