A Child's Resistance
I will not sit
And watch the world burn
While you all say to us
“It’s not your turn”
You’re shaping the world
That we will live in
But you’ve gone and broken it all
And we’ll have to save your skin
Our voices are drowned out
By the messes that you make
Only thinking of yourselves
You don’t see the world begin to break
I don’t stand
For the decisions that you fall for
I can’t take
Insanity much more
You tell us we’re not ready
That we are too easy to control
But I have seen those younger than I am
Stand for the opposite of what they’re told
And while I’m here on this topic
Of claimed puppet strings
Who ever said that adults
Weren’t molded under their parent’s wings?
I will not drown
In the river you send
We will take our world
For our own in the end
We care more than anyone
We, the children
And we will not be told
That you won’t listen
