Stand the Jump
I have been standing
on the ledges of rusty bridges
in places people cannot find me.
Looking onto the rushing waters
below my trembling legs,
I beg to feel again.
I pry my dead weight
from the edge,
my heart rate increasing
as I plunge into the creek.
Finally drowning
in something other than my mind,
I am blissfully swallowed
by the undertow.
Making me feel
for the first time
since you.
