Saturday Night Flight

With my eyelids shut,

I walk to our corner.

This place gives me peace

when nothing’s in order.

The streetlight

shines bright

when there's no light

in my life.

It's a Saturday night,

I think I´ve won this

week´s fight,

and suddenly you appear,

and we´re ready for

our flight.

The sun´s died down,

and the shroud of the night

shines in purple and blue.

It’s happening again,

that feeling’s begun.

That feeling I get

when your hand holds mine.

I look into your eyes,

you look into mine,

you don’t say a word,

you know  I can hear you in my mind.

You say to me,

“Hold my hand,

and hold it tight,

all will be alright

tonight.”

Those gusts of wind

I’ve grown to love

start up once more.

I lose my footing,

but I don’t fall.

I have no sense

of weight at all.

As we embrace,

we seem to levitate.

my fear of heights

is set to the side,

because with you,

I’d be willing to go to

Hell and back.

We’re up by stories now,

and this one I’ll love

to tell.

It’s a different

kind of night,

it does shine very bright,

a new kind of daylight,

it’s a gorgeous delight.

Though not shining as bright

as your glistening eyes

looking up into

the infinite sky.

All my troubles are gone,

the stress in my life is absent,

it’s because I’m with you

and we’re still in our ascent.

I still hold your hand,

I never want to land.

I’ve had my share of falls,

and I don’t want to anymore.

Anything’s possible when

I’m with you.

I have strength when I’m with you.

All my sadness leaves when I’m

with you.

It’s you on who I depend,

and I don’t want this to

come to an

end.

We’re higher than

skyscrapers now,

no need to

ask how.

The night is purple

and blue,

they shine down

on you.

You’ve got me

possessed under

your subtle

caress.

The world won’t

understand,

and they’ll ask

us why.

And I’ll look down

upon them and answer:

“Because gravity could never hold us down,

turned into a smile what once was a frown.

If you leave in a moment, in your eyes I will drown”

So please,

take my hand,

and wear with me

this crown.

And you’ll look at me

with that enchanting smile,

and remind me that

we only have little time left.

We’d have

made it

damn near

the atmosphere.

Our gracious flight ends here,

in a couple of moments,

to the ground we’ll be near.

You know I hate

when it’s over

So you caress my cheek,

And finally

Yes,  we finally

become one as

we finally

ki-

And my eyes open up,

I was deep in my head,

A tear streams down my cheek,

my hope is now dead.

I’m still here,

on the bench,

on our corner.

And I’ll be here.

Waiting.

Waiting.

Waiting.

I wish that this

daydream

never came to an

end.
