Music is Feelings
Rhythm, clap, clap, clap
Counting 1 and 2 and 3 and 4
The feeling of the beat awake inside me.
Sliding my fingers across the strings of my cello only hoping I dont mess up
Everything built up that I couldnt say in words come out by the whispering of my fingers.
Each of them tell a different feeling.
Is it anger?
Sadness?
Guilt?
Happiness?
My heart races with every note as my fingers feel like fire.
But what happens when I let my feelings out?
Whos there to listen?
I wonder to myself what Musicians feel when they make music.
Have you ever listened closely?
Do you feel the pain or excitement that they feel or are you just listening because it sounds good.
Do you ever think how many times they have been hurt for you to write that song that you totally like.
No one thinks of the feelings because feelings are gross and show weakness.
Music is feelings.
It is the words that cant be spoken.
I look at the music in front of me
I wonder how im going to play it.
I picked up the bow, hands sweating.
My fingers feel sore when the song is over.
I sat there, blankly
I drop the bow
Look at the crowd
And stand up.
They applaud me,
They applaud me after pouring my heart out to them through this piece of music.
I smile
I did it.
They understood.
They put their own words to the music.
So, the next time you hear a song you really like,
Listen to it.
In a unique way, listen to it.
Feel the beat
Understand the words and know what the artist is trying to tell you.
It might even be a plea for help.
After all
Music is the words that cant be spoken.
