And I Love You So
It is my grandpa’s birthday, he would be 91 today,
I miss talking to him each morning, so all I do is pray.
But he is two years gone and it has never felt the same,
I wish I spent more time with him, so I’m the one to blame.
I am lucky to have known him, his name is Leonard too,
A man for me to emulate, so strong and oh so true.
I learned so much from watching him when he came to live with us,
A simple man with simple needs, but a heart that’s always selfless.
Although I miss him more than ever, he is together with his love,
Dancing with my Nan again, they guide me from above.
Their favorite song will forever be tattooed upon my skin,
It brings me joy to honor them – my most precious kin.
