Through the mind of the drummer
I feel the thunder beneath me. My fingers move like lightning. I lose myself within each stroke. The thunder grows. My heart starts to feel the waves rushing through my body. It's like a shock that travels from my fingers to my head. It's no longer a murmur it's loud and clear. It pierces through the silence. There are peaks and there are valleys. The story flows sometimes slowly and sometimes quickly. As my fingers near the end, my body takes a while to relax. My fingers stop. Slowly my body follows and finally my heart. The thunder is gone and only the sweet silence remains.
