Off the beaten path

Off the beaten path a place we knew so well, a fallen tree, some sturdy rocks block us on our journey. Stopping on the way to no where to skip some rocks across the creek we jumped to get here. We continue in the opposite direction, not knowing what we'll find. taking in surroundings, learning of each other, we walk. a wild lily is given, an object of affection. A flower that is not only beautiful, but also stains the skin.
