Singing To A Blind Man MAG
Singing to a Blind Man
While I was asleep I got lost,
lost in a place that was
a third of the way between
lying to you and lying to me.
Here in this quiet, warring place,
I dance with my eye closed.
While the world crumbles under my feet
and is rebuilt inside me,
I fall,
singing.
Trapped in this brutal falling ground,
it is impossible to carve any honesty
from this darkness,
just as it is impossible to coax any love
from so much light.
Instead of questioning, instead of forgiving,
I open my eye and am looking upon blinded you.
I turn away and fall, silent,
afraid to hope that I might be beautiful.
