Snap MAG
The small rubber band,
Caught between two large hands,
Began to stretch and extend.
The tension there,
That was too much to bear,
Tugging from opposite ends.
One large hand
Wanted the band,
But the other fist wanted a fight.
Each pulled his own way,
Till one dreary day,
When the pressure became much too tight.
So snapped the band,
Whipping each hand
With a hard and rubbery sting.
The battle fought,
Over a rubber band taught,
Was quite a ludicrous thing.
But what of the elastic
That was non-enthusiastic,
Being stretched so unyieldingly tense?
It was prey to the aggressor,
Split in half under pressure,
And his life shall be no more hence!
This goes to explain
How pressure causes pain,
On every party involved.
The markings they bear,
From the band that whipped there,
Are mem'ries of the conflict unsolved.
