Postcard From Chicago MAG
"The view of Chicago is amazing, Mom!"
The brilliant sky
continues on forever,
blue as a computer screen, and
the buildings are so small.
I love being here.
Breathing the air is magnificent, and
as I look off Navy Pier I think,
Wow, I'm in Illinois.
We walk the streets just like tourists,
cameras in hand, pictures taken at every corner.
"Let's play in FAO Schwartz," said Joanne
We ate at Gino's East on Michigan Avenue
Niketown here we come.
(I think I could get in the record books
for the fastest return: one minute
I had bought a pair of shorts and a t-shirt
I loved the shirt the shorts were okay
so I decided to return the shorts.
I actually felt very good about returning them.)
Then we were off to Kaminski Field
to the White Sox game.
We didn't stay; they were losing
and we need to get on the road and head to our next stop:
Wisconsin.
