Phoebe MAG
My shoes tap loudly on the cold linoleum,
fluorescent lights blind my eyes.
Automatic doors open to a world of pets.
And then ...
there you are, like a black blanket,
curled up in the corner of your cold steel cage.
Your beautiful green eyes open and shine like marbles.
My hand makes a feeble attempt to pet you through the bars,
your fur feels so soft against my skin.
I have to have you.
I beg and plead.
Now you are mine ...
and i am yours.
