snow and salting trucks
disruptthe kids
you baby-sit
in the seat behind you
darkness lies straightahead
like a giant black hole waiting to engulf you
and you want tocry
It's so horrifying
you hate the sharp taunting curves
placed upahead
and the night walking deer
that linger in your space
and theclinking of the loose pebbles
coming up
and hitting the bottom of yourcar
you can't see any of it
but you know it's there
