Morning MAG
Fivea.m. finds me again.
Saturated darkness
An alarm's tuneless notes ring inthe air
Every part of me wants to calm its annoying wail,
I'm afraidwithout its sound.
Whispers and secrets sometimes awaken mysilence.
Secrets I'm not supposed to hear,
Secrets that seep through thewalls,
Secrets that tap their fingers on my sleeping eyelids
Outside mybedroom door lies a different world,
A world where feelings don'tmatter
Whispers crescendo
Slammed doors and shattered hearts,
Pride anddignity left broken on the floor.
My familiar music of the night,
Issomething morning should not know.
Morning should be rustling sheets,
Withspoons in cereal bowls
Or wind brushing its fingers through treebranches,
That wake up to the cold.
Morning doesn't welcome
A slimyresidue of brewing banters
From the night before.
I cling to the last cryof the alarm for comfort,
Before I drown myself in the waters of mysheets.
I sleep a little longer
So as not to hear the silence, it makes meshudder.
