I saw the eye
Staring back at me
She was my best friend
But the look suggested more
We’d always bee like
Brother and sister
But maybe
That was about to change
Maybe she felt the same way
I did
Maybe she’d just realized
Just how much
She loved me
Maybe she just
Couldn’t stay quiet
About her feelings
Maybe

The eye blinked
And she took a deep breath
“ I love you”
We hugged
And I whispered,
“I love you, too”
It was sweet
And we kissed

Then I woke up
Maybe today would be the day
Dreams would become reality
And I would stare into her eye
And admit
I loved her
