I AM
“Your Pretty for a black girl”
Is not a compliment
“Is that your real hair”
Is not your business
“Can I do your hair”
No It's not your toy
I Hope
I hope one day i'm not scared to get “that call” every time my father goes out
I hope one day people won’t see my skin as something that they need to fear
I hope one day I wont get denied a job because of my hair
I hope one day we will have justice and peace, Not Death and Tears
All of Us
All White People aren't school shooters
All Black people aren't drug dealers
All white parents aren't Alcoholics
All Black parents aren’t deadbeat
If A few of us do something it doesn't mean we are all destined to do the same
I'm tired
Tired of seeing us on the news
Tired of being looked over
Tired of being used
Manifestation
We got justice
We got justice
We got justice
We have peace
We have peace
We have peace
We are equal
We are equal
We are equal
Truth
Black is Beautiful
Black is Strong
Black is Powerful
Black is History
I am Black….. I am History

I decided to do this Poem to spread awareness for African American Culture, also for Black History Month.
