There was a princess

A very fragile one at that

She’d been broken before

Her heart shattered like glass

She put herself back together

Her heart secured with tape

One push as it would collapse

She felt she would never be the same

One day she met a boy

He was a little older than her

She tried desperately to ignore her feelings

She couldn’t afford to get hurt

She couldn’t help herself

She was infatuated with him

The more they talked the deeper she fell

She stopped trying to escape and gave in

She’d gone past the point of return

She’d fallen off the deep end

She couldn’t believe it

When he told her he'd be there until the end

She soon found that he was a prince

Of a kingdom far away

They had to stay apart for a while

They wrote letters everyday

They fell in love with each other

He made promises he would never break

He swore she would never hurt again

Her heart would never ache

When the time came

She moved to his kingdom finally

He became King and made her his Queen

Her heart was now filled entirely

I wrote this poem about two people of different countries falling in love and going through a long distance relationship. Enjoy! - Maddie

There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature—the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter. —Rachel Carson

This is really beautiful, and that is saying something because usually I don't really like love poems.
