“ Everyone can rise above their circumstances and achieve success if they are dedicated to and passionate about what they do. “
I am from poor old communist country. Me and my mom started life from the scratch when we came to this country. There are many things I don’t have advantage of compare to American kids.
I have difficulty with expressing myself and letting people know who I really am. Some people may think its not a big of a deal but to me, especially at this time of my life when I have to get into good colleges it is one of my biggest concern. I have so much stuff to write on my college essay but I find it very hard to choose a right word or make the essay more appealing and interesting.

For the past years, classes I could take were very limited since I was in ELL program. If I take AP or honors classes, I would not have understand the subject. Since colleges look at classes I took and grades I got this will affect college decision.
Also, my college tuition will be almost the double amount of what american kids pay. Because of that the colleges I can afford are much narrower.
Despite all of the problems I have, this quotes gives me little bit of hope that if I just try my best at what I do, I can be as successful as any other kids especially in America where opportunity promised to be given to everyone.
I also don’t think his quote applies to some situations. Success has to be defined in order to do that. Many people including me connects success with financial stability and higher education. In some countries it is impossible for one to be successful with nothing to rely on except for himself. Getting into college is one of them. There are so many countries including Mongolia, no matter how good you are at academic and everything if you have no money you can’t get into colleges. Therefore if Nelson’s success is same as mine, his quote is not true all the time.
