A House Made Mine
I want to live many places in many stages of my life but right now I want to gut a library. Or maybe an old store or an office. I want to buy it, gut it, and turn it into my home.
Something with a history. Something well-worn. Old.
I want something slightly too small for all my stuff so there will be clutter wherever you go. I want a dream bathroom – maybe not big but luxurious. I want brightly colored walls and art decorating them. I want bookcases scattered around the house full of old and new books, movies, and music.
I want a bedroom that isn’t used for work. A soft bed with cozy covers and plush pillows. A nice closet too.
I want to feel at home in that place – the gutted library, old store, or office. I want to have things clean my way and to clean them when I want to. I want to eat healthy but get takeout because I can’t be bothered to cook.
I want something old-with a history. A house I made mine.
